THE Dream!

It is a beautiful rainy day. The tiny bookstore is filled with people wearing bright smiles holding books and coffee mugs in their hands. In the middle of everything is a girl with the brightest smile. There is a pile of books on her table. She has two mugs of coffee not one because she is absolutely addicted to caffeine. Today is her day. The huge poster reads ‘Priyanka Hasija’s book signing’.

This is my dream. It is not a dream. It is THE dream. THE dream I have been dreaming of since I was a little girl. THE dream which is more precious to me than anything else. THE dream I am working day and night to turn into reality.

Most people never realize what their purpose on this planet it. I realized mine very soon. I was born with a love for words and I want to spread this love and happiness.

I want to be that author who writes books which people read before falling asleep, that make them feel like they belong. I want my writings to fill lives with stories that provide warmth on a rainy day. I want my stories to make people fall in love, inspire them to be better and help them dream a little more.

I love reading. Sometimes I finish a three hundred pages book within three hours not because I want to prove something to someone but simply because I can never put a good book down.

I want to be able to do that for someone. I want them to hold my book while traveling in a bus or on a Saturday night which unlike others they want to spend indoors or simply at times when they need the feel of pages to calm their soul. I really want to be the kind of author who writes books that people never forget.

I remember ninth grade. I was struggling with being a teenager. I found this book called,’ A little Princess’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett and that book became my companion. I drew strength from the character Sarah, and to be honest I would never have been able to go through that phase if it weren’t for this book.

If someday my words become the reason for a smile on a struggling teenager’s face, I will die a happy soul.

I know that dreaming is nothing without working hard. I write every single day. I know that having talent is not enough, hard work is what matters the most.

I absolutely believe in my dream. There are people who ask me about my plan B, and to be honest, I don’t have a plan B. I believe that someday I will publish my book and that I will make my name in the world of literature.

Having a dream is the most wonderful thing in the world. It gives your life a purpose. My purpose is to fill lives with stories. And I think I am truly blessed to be doing what I love.

Writing a best seller is THE dream, it is my dream. And someday this dream shall come true. I will make sure it does.

If you too are a dreamer like me, keep working hard and always believe in yourself. Dreams come true and slowly mine is coming true.
